villagers woke to a murder investigation on their doorsteps after a teenage girl's body was dumped in Wilmington.
Sixth form graphic design student Natalie Janiak, 18, was found by a man walking his dog in an alley off Capel Place early on Saturday morning.
Two men were arrested on Sunday and were being held in Gravesend and Tonbridge as News Shopper went to press.
Plumber Jimmy Jackaman, who lives in the house next to where the gruesome discovery was made, says he was woken by a knock on the door.
Mr Jackaman, 16, said: "This man was saying call the police, I've found a dead body'.
"I looked outside and saw a young girl with ginger hair lying on her back. She had blood coming out of her nose and there were purple bruises on her cheeks and mouth."
Natalie was wearing clothes worn on an evening out the night before. A Home Office pathologist said the youngster from Blackheath, south-east London, had been strangled.
Kent Police are investigating the possibility she was dead before being driven to the village. Neighbours heard an "old-sounding" car driving off in the early hours.
