IT is little more than a year since a quality home took shape on an elevated spot in a quiet village close to the coast on the Island’s scenic south side.

Since then, the owners of Primrose Cottage, at the top end of Town Lane, Chale, have loved living there and enjoyed its glorious views over unspoilt countryside.

But their nomadic instincts have taken over, they are seeking to move on and the detached three-bedroom chalet bungalow, with the balance of an NHBC guarantee, is on the market.

Primrose Cottage replaced a cottage on the site with the same name and was carefully designed to suit the couple’s needs.

It is well-presented and has panelled oak interior doors, with architrave and skirting stained to match, and quality PVCu oak-effect exterior doors and windows.

High standards are also evident in the family bathroom and upstairs shower room, both with tiled walls and flooring in pleasing neutral tones.

Also upstairs is a spacious bedroom looking out over pretty countryside.

Primrose Cottage has a stone exterior, enhanced by brick quoins and window surrounds, with clay roof tiles.

It is a warm, economical to run timber-framed property with Calor gas central heating and the bonus of an attractive open fireplace in the lounge.

Primrose Cottage is set well above the road and has plenty of parking to the front and side.

In the entrance hall is a cupboard beneath stairs to the first floor.

The lounge is an inviting area, with a pewter-style surround and black granite hearth to an open fireplace. It has countryside views through two front windows and a further window to the side.

From the dining room, with side French doors to the garden, is a square archway to the kitchen/

breakfast room.

This ceramic tile-floored area is fitted with a matching range of wall and base cupboard units with work surfaces and has a double electric oven with Calor gas hob and extractor fan, plumbing for a washing machine and dishwasher and space for a fridge/freezer.

Windows look out to the rear and side. Next door is a utility lobby with storage units, tiled work surface, plumbing for a tumble dryer and a door to the rear garden.

The bathroom houses a white suite, including a bath and shower enclosure and also downstairs are two bedrooms.

With a rear garden outlook and fitted wardrobes is double-sized bedroom two, while single-sized bedroom three has front countryside views.

Bedroom one upstairs measures 14ft by 16ft and looks out to countryside through side and rear Velux windows.

Also upstairs is an attractive, well-appointed shower room.

Enjoying a good degree of privacy are L-shaped gardens to the side and rear, screened by berberis hedging and fencing and with apple, plum and pear trees plus a large metal storage shed.
