A VISIT to Blackberry Lodge could be fruitful if you are after well-planned living space with some great creek and sea views.

The detached house, with attractive modern decor throughout its spacious four-bedroom accommodation, also has the advantage of being in popular Wootton.

It is set in unmade Red Road, just around the corner from the high street’s wide array of shops and amenities, in what the owners say is a very friendly community.

Families will appreciate having four double bedrooms and the upstairs layout could work well for you if, like the owners, you have a relative to house.

There are two bedrooms on either side of a wide galleried landing, enabling the relative a degree of independence by occupying a pretty bedroom with creek and sea views and using the bedroom next door as a living room.

The owners of welcoming Blackberry Lodge, which is around nine years old, have lived there for nearly four years and redecorated using a stylish contemporary palette of mainly neutrals and soft mocha and earthy shades.

New carpets and floor coverings in all but the lovely airy conservatory have completed the smart look.

Blackberry Lodge occupies a wide plot with a gravelled side parking area and integral garage providing scope, subject to planning, for an extension.

A delightful gravelled Mediter-ranean-style garden, with shapely grasses and plants, fronts the house, which has PVCu double-glazing and gas central heating.

Through a door with pretty stained-glass insert is the entrance hallway, where dark-tiled flooring, cream walls and white woodwork create a crisp look.

A cloakroom with WC and handbasin is positioned off.

The 15ft by 12ft lounge/dining room, with rich chocolate-papered accent walls, runs the depth of the home and has a fireplace with decorative wooden surround housing a coal-effect gas fire.

From here, a sliding door opens to the tile-floored, 16ft-wide PVCu double-glazed conservatory with a garden outlook and access.

The vaulted-ceilinged conservatory is also linked to the kitchen where the same dark-tiled flooring as that in the hallway contrasts with a range of white units.

As well as a fitted electric double oven, gas hob and extractor hood, there is space and plumbing for a washing machine and dishwasher.

Natural light floods onto the upstairs landing through a wide front window.

Off the landing is an airing cupboard, four bedrooms and the attractive family bathroom, with a fresh white suite.

The large master bedroom, with en-suite shower room, has rear views to the mouth of the creek, the sea and mainland, with the Spin-naker Tower at Portsmouth visible.

Another bedroom has a similar outlook and the other two double bedrooms are both rear-facing.

Well-used for summer dining and entertaining is a raised patio in the rear garden. Beyond is a neat lawn with shrub-filled borders and pear, bay and eucalyptus trees and a sunny paved corner with a hot tub, available by separate negotiation.
