TO re-arrange or not to re-arrange is the question at a flexible Freshwater house with lots of airy living space, which could easily be adapted in a number of ways.

Those with a relative to house would find a comfortable granny flat, with plenty of other appealing accommodation at detached 2 The Crundles.

The small, sought-after cul de sac, close to village amenities and to Afton Marsh Nature Reserve, is thought to have got its name from an old English word for a raised peninsula surrounded by marshland.

Detached number 2 is ideal for a range of buyers, including those wanting to give a relative some independence. Its granny flat includes a large lounge with kitchenette, a shower room and bedroom, all off an inner hall at one end of the upstairs landing.

The rest of the house has three-bedroom space with a smart, newly fitted-out bathroom plus a downstairs lounge, dining room, kitchen/breakfast room, utility room, study and shower room.

Dating from the 1970s, the executive-style property had four bedrooms before a high-standard extension was added in 2006 by a local craftsman, with lots of care taken to blend in a new gable end.

Possibilities include incorporating 17ft by 9ft bedroom two into the flat, so it has two bedrooms, or turning the property into one superbly spacious five-bedroom home.

Whatever is decided, the new owners will find good-sized rooms with plentiful natural light streaming in through wide windows and pleasant front views to downland upstairs.

At the front is ample off-road parking on a driveway leading to a car port and a lawned area with shrubs.

Hedging and fencing encloses the good-sized lawned back garden with shrubs and a delightful patio area in one corner.

Off the L-shaped hall is the 20ft by 12ft lounge with a gas fire, a big front window and double-glazed sliding door to the garden.

Next door is the rear-facing dining room with a serving hatch to the rear-facing kitchen. This has a range of wooden units, a gas cooker point, plumbing for a dishwasher and a large opening to the breakfast area with rear sliding door.

Matching units are fitted in the tile-floored utility room, with plumbing for a washing machine.

Also downstairs is a laminate-floored study and a shower room with tiled walls.

There is space for a small desk on the L-shaped upstairs landing, with an airing cupboard and front downland views.

Two of the three double bedrooms in the main part of the house have a back garden outlook and the other is front-facing.

The spacious family bathroom has been smartly upgraded with a white suite including a bidet, fully tiled walls and a heated towel rail.

In addition to a single bedroom and tiled shower room, the flat includes a lounge with downland views through a large picture window and fitted units and hob in the kitchenette area.
