Sports development officer Jo Rossiter fulfilled a lifetime ambition when she ran the 26-mile marathon course through London, completing the race in five hours.

Her first marathon attempt netted £1,200 for the London Sports Forum for Disabled People, which provides opportunities for disabled people to get involved in sport at all levels.

Jo, 27, is now keen to put her running skills to the test by running another marathon in the future.

Wyn Williams, who works in the council's business planning unit, completed his fourth London marathon in four hours and 15 minutes to raise £1,000 for the cancer charities OVACOM and Break Through Breast Cancer.

Mr Williams chose to support the charities after losing his mother to ovarian cancer and his sister to breast cancer.
