AMAZING mosaics, lilac painted walls and Moroccan bathroom tiles are among stunning details giving a Brook home a fabulous style of its own but it also works wonderfully for family living.

Bush Rew Cottage stands in three quarters of an acre of glorious gardens with as much individual character as the interior.

Yet it is no show home, as accommodation is spacious, flexible and exceptionally well-appointed, with four fantastic en-suite double bedrooms, utility and laundry rooms, an immense sitting room and spectacular high-ceilinged kitchen/ diner with integrated appliances and a lovely lilac Aga.

Set well back from the main road and enjoying lots of privacy, the detached home was designed by a London architect for himself and built by J. R. Buckett and Sons, which eight years ago added the upper floor and extended downstairs.

This was carefully planned by garden designer and mosaic artist Yvonne Mathews, who owns the house with husband, Chris.

She modernised Bush Rew Cottage in practical but quirky style, adding exquisite mosaics inside and out and imaginatively using colour to great effect.

The wonderful, tranquil gardens abound in interest, shrubs and trees. There are greenhouses and sheds and  big lawned front gardens, plus a large tiled terrace, deck and barbecue area.

Beyond a sweeping lawn is a less formal area with ponds. A side driveway leads to a gravelled parking area.

Step through a gate within a wall and you arrive in a fantastic courtyard garden with Gaudi-inspired mosaics.

An entrance hall leads to a lobby with a stylish WC off. A side-facing study beyond has a door to a utility room with glossy white units and a door to a rear deck. Through a door in the entrance hall with a mosaic surround is the inner hallway dominated by an attractive Iroko staircase.

A high sloping ceiling, similar to the sitting room and upstairs rooms, creates an airy sense of space in the wow-factor kitchen with lilac and pink decor, glossy pale-blue units, a courtyard outlook and a lovely front view across the gardens to fields where sheep graze.

The welcoming 31ft sitting room has a similar idyllic view and terrace access.

Positioned off and with access to the front deck is a bedroom with a spectacularly tiled en-suite shower room, a games room/study leading to a bedroom with a lovely en-suite bathroom housing a spa bath and a laundry room.
Velux windows light the upstairs landing looking into the sitting room.

The magnificent 22ft long master bedroom, with six high windows, has a large dressing room leading to a spectacular en-suite shower room with black tiling and fitted storage beneath marble tops with fossils and a further dressing room off.

Bedroom two also has a gorgeous en-suite shower room and a playroom off with a Velux window framing treetop views.
