Barnet 1
Watford 2 (aet)
John Doolan faces a three-match ban after being sent off as Barnet were beaten by a late goal in extra-time in their Herts Senior Cup semi-final against Watford at Underhill on Monday.
The Bees included seven of the squad who lost at Notts County on Saturday in a strong-looking line-up against what amounted to a Watford reserve side.
And Doolan's dismissal could have serious repercussions for the Bees promotion campaign at a vital stage in the season.
He was given his marching orders by Welwyn referee Mark Halsey, a former Bees goalkeeper, in the 32nd minute following an ill-timed two-footed challenge on Stuart Slater.
The former West Ham and Celtic star was stretchered off and taken to hospital where stitches were inserted in a leg wound.
Watford took an 18th-minute lead through Daniel Greaves, and Barnet equaliser with a header by David McDonald, following a cross by Billy Manuel.
Later, Manuel hit the bar with a free-kick, and in extra-time Ken Charley missed a great chance to settle it.
Then, with two minutes left David Thomas headed Watford's winner.
BARNET: Coggon, Stockley, Manuel, McDonald, Ford, Sawyers, Doolan, Charlery, Devine (Searle 46min), McGleish (Samuels 46min), Simpson (Onwere 75min).
