ANOTHER fine weekend on the track and field for Enfield & Haringey Athletic Club saw wins for the ladies team and the boys A and B teams.

The ladies were at home at Enfield Queen Elizabeth Stadium for an exciting match which saw the top five teams eventually separated by just 28 points. They scored 185 with Shaftesbury Barnet second on 180 and Hearn Hill third on 175.

The boys team, also at home, won by a massive 121 points, scoring 291 with Havering second on 170.

Outstanding performers included under-13 Chris Julian who won the 100m in 12.1sec and the 200m in 25.2sec. Jason Joseph won the shot put with 13.5m and John Pepper the 1500m in 4min 55.5sec.

For the under-15s, B Johnson won the 80m hurdles in 12.5sec and Fallon Paul won the high jump with 1.65m and the javelin with 47.55m.

In the under-17 category, Carl Saggers won the discus, javelin and shot.

Clive Turner won the 100m in 11.6sec, Stefan Westphall the 200m in 23.6sec, Nichol Davolls the 400m in 52.9sec, Darren St Clair the 800m in 2min 2.3sec and Charles Desmond the 100m hurdles in 14.9sec.

The boys B team won their first match of the season with Isiah Adekambi winning the 100m in 12.1sec and 3000m debutant Farhan Takar winning his race in 9min 37sec.

Enfield & Haringey's men's team, competing in the national league at Wigan, fielded a depleted line-up after late withdrawals and finished seventh of eight teams.

Lawrence Lynch won the A 400m hurdles in 52.7sec and Joel Hopkins won the B race in 54.9sec. Ian Campbell, returning to the team after a year's absence, won the B 1500m in 3min 59.9sec while Scott Ryder recorded second-place finishes in the discus and shot.

The team hope for a better finish in their next match which is in Enfield.

The girls team came fifth in their McDonald's League premier division match at Tooting.
