Save money

- I am writing to let readers know how they can save money when having goods delivered from B&Q. Eltham's B&Q charges £25 for next day delivery. Upon enquiring if this was correct, a spokesperson at B&Q said it depended on how busy the van is it could go on to the next day and, on certain days, deliveries are not made at all. The Greenwich and Sidcup stores charge £15 and even the Dartford store only charges £20. According to B&Q's head office, a survey was done in the Eltham area and residents voted for the £25 delivery charge. I know where I will be ordering my goods. So much for supporting your local shops.

Seekin' Sharon

- I am trying to locate my friend, Sharon Sturgeon. We lived in married quarters in Hyde Park Barracks from 1991. Sharon moved to Windsor in 1993-94 and then back to Kent. I mislaid her new address when I moved at the end of 1995. Sharon may be divorced now and is possibly not using Sturgeon as her surname. She has two daughters, Rebecca and Holly. Her parents lived in the Sidcup area at the time. I am now divorced myself. My name then was Louise Biggs. Sharon will be about 34, slim, about 5ft 3in and with auburn hair.

It's no shelter

- Could anyone tell me why the bus shelter alongside the Tarn, in Mottingham, has been turned around? This has removed the protection once given to waiting passengers from the drenching they will now receive from traffic driving at speed through the enormous puddle which always forms immediately alongside the shelter. Was it someone's idea of a laugh or just pure sadism? And is there any chance of that puddle being drained?

Read the signs

- Once again, and rightly so, you have carried a number of letters concerning the dismal and deteriorating state of Eltham High Street. Its character has all but gone. Surely this is likely to happen to Grove Park too if the Kellys' excellent flower stall is forced out of business, and yet there was not a single letter on this issue. Let us beware of not reading the signs and of doing too little too late.
