RUGBYSandown and Shanklin over-25s 22, Exiles 17
IN AN entertaining Christmas match, Sandown’s over-25s just about defeated an Exiles side in front of a large crowd.
Exiles were first on the sheet when Aden Price charged over from close in, the try converted by Alex Howard.
Joe Rees then broke through the defence feeding Luke Chandler for a try before the Exiles got mixed up in midfield, and Hurries centre, Jaryd Robinson ran in unopposed, converted by Neil Buckingham.
There were large cheers when Chris Skelley chipped the defence close in and caught the ball but was stopped short of the line before Ben Allman then crashed over.
Further tries came from Rees, from a five-metre scrum, and Tommy Booth from a quick tap.
Late on, Dean Gasper ran 50 metres, breaking many tackles along the way, only to be brought down by the evergreen John Coleman.
