The relaxed poise of the Windsor Arms football team before the first leg of the Carslberg Pub Cup Draw was shattered within minutes of their first game.

The team drew 0-0 against The Victoria pub from St John's Wood.

"There were lots of chances on both sides - it really wasn't as dull as it sounds," said Stewart Holt, the manager of the Clapham pub.

In the event the game was decided on who had the hardiest nerves and the Windsor Arms boys went through on penalties.

They are now eagerly awaiting to hear who their next opponents will be in the second leg of the draw which must be played before October 24.

This is the first year the pub has fielded a team for the annual draw but they have high hopes for their debut appearance.
