An Ofsted inspection report for St Luke's School brought a double helping of good news.
Not only were the good marks welcome, but the school's Parent-Teacher Association presented a silver birch tree to headteacher Sandra Baxter to celebrate.
Sylvia Angell, from Kingston Council's Environment Centre, said: "The school is very proud of its grounds and encourage participation from parents and friends which is very rewarding for all concerned. This was also an ideal way to herald National Tree Week and we will be working with the school again during this period to plant a mini apple orchard."
