PARISHIONERS from Haringey will be converging on Alexandra Palace tomorrow for a service to herald the new millennium.
The Edmonton Eucharist will involve around 1,000 people from more than 100 parishes in North London.
The Church of England service is part of On The Way - a procession round the boundaries of the boroughs of Haringey, Enfield, Barnet and Camden.
The series of walks and prayer meetings started in February and is expected to go on until November.
The events will provide opportunities to pray for and bless the area.
On Saturday, four walks will converge on Alexandra Palace in Wood Green from Hornsey, Edmonton, Cockfosters, and Cricklewood.
The event will also be the inaugural Eucharist of the new Bishop of Edmonton, the Right Rev Peter Wheatley.
Rousing musical accompaniment will be provided by the Adoramus Choir and Orchestra.
The service takes place between 4pm and 6pm at the palace in Alexandra Palace Way, Wood Green.
