Chris Rashley in action at Stokes Bay.
SAILING IW SAILOR Chris Rashley has won the UK International Moth 2012 Grand Prix in Stokes Bay.
Chris, of St Helens, who is supported by Royal London Yacht Club and is the current International Moth European champion, took the crown from three-time national champion Jason Belben after two days of exciting competition.
Only five of the six planned races went ahead, with the final contest cancelled because of a dying wind, but Chris ensured victory by winning all five in style.
Chris began his quest for the National Championship at Stone yesterday (Thursday), in a contest expected to continue until Sunday.
He will then try to defend his European title in Lake Garda in August. The competition will run in conjunction with the world championships.
