SAILINGFISHBOURNE Sailability Club (FSC) is moving to Cowes.
Following discussions with a number of clubs and organisations in the area, the club will now be operating from Cowes-based charity and leading maritime training provider, UKSA from the beginning of this season.
And it is looking to strengthen its links with Andrew Cassell Foundation and the Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club, as well as other groups in the area.
The move comes after eight successful years of operation, culminating in the raising of £16,000 to purchase a motor catamaran and further recent awards of £2,000 from the Little Britain Challenge Cup, and £400 from the BBC Radio Solent Community Chest.
Brian Gay, club commodore, said: "We appreciate the support given by the Royal Victoria Yacht Club which has enabled FSC to become an established provider of opportunities for recreation afloat for Islanders with disabilities and are leaving Fishbourne with some regret.
"We now look forward to an exciting future in Cowes and working even more closely with established centres of excellence."
Transatlantic and round-Britain disabled sailor Geoff Holt wished the club well.
He said: "FSC will go from strength to strength in its new location at Cowes."
Jon Ely, UKSA chief executive, said: "We are delighted to welcome Fishbourne Sailability Club to its new home at UKSA."
