SPEEDWAYMEMBERS of the armed forces will be able to enjoy a night of speedway, courtesy of Wightlink, Southern Vectis and the Wightlink Islanders.
Next Tuesday, June 29, the club is holding its first Armed Forces Night in conjunction with their National League meeting against Scunthorpe.
The club and two companies are offering free travel — on the Island and from the mainland — and free entry for anyone who is a member of the armed forces.
Co-promoter and team manager Kevin Shepherd, who is himself a former armed forces member, said: "This is part of the drive by all British speedway clubs, in conjunction with Tickets for Troops, to invite our serving men and women along for a night of thrills and spills at the speedway, but the Wightlink Islanders have gone one further."
Wightlink are offering free travel on the FastCat for armed forces members, while Southern Vectis are laying on a free coach.
The club thanked Kerry Jackson, marketing director at Wightlink, and Southern Vectis staff, for their support.
