SPEEDWAYSPEEDWAY side the Wightlink Islanders have confirmed they will remain in the sport’s third tier, the National League, next season.

Team management attended the league’s general council meeting in Rugby last week, and confirmed they fully intend to come to the tapes once again next year.

The meeting at Rugby was described as being very positive indeed although no details will be released until after the forthcoming general meetings of the top two tiers, the Elite and Premier leagues.

Next week the team and fans will gather for the final time this season for a firework night and presentation ceremony on Friday, November 6.

The evening starts with some quad racing action at 7pm with the firework display starting at around 7.30pm.
