THE Isle of Wight's speedway team has rekindled their sponsorship with Wightlink.
From next season, the Smallbrook club will be known as the Wightlink Warriors after the ferry company agreed a deal to become their main sponsor.
Commercial director Barry Bishop said: " This is fantastic news for the Warriors, The Andrew Younie Smallbrook Stadium and the Isle of Wight.
"I am massively proud to be able to announce that Wightlink will be the Warriors lead sponsor for 2017.
"The relationship will go beyond ferry travel and will develop into one which is incredibly important to the Warriors and Smallbrook stadium, as both continue to develop and grow.
"As a club the Warriors did some amazing things in 2016 and we paved the way to Smallbrook becoming a big attraction on the Island.
"Now with Wightlink on board with us, 2017 will be incredible.
"Martin and I are very appreciative to Wightlink and we look forward to working with them and growing tourism on the Island.
"It gives me great pleasure to welcome Wightlink."
The deal will include discount offers for travelling fans, both home and away, as well as joint marketing strategies to help develop the club further.
Wightlink's business development director, Clive Tilley, added: "Wightlink Ferries are proud to be lead sponsor for the Wightlink Warriors.

"The team has got off to a great start and will go from strength to strength in 2017.
"We are also delighted Smallbrook Stadium is well on the way to become a major Island venue.
"Wightlink will work with the team to attract and support more amazing events like the popular Jack Up the 80s."
