THE Wightlink Islanders had no answer to a wonder show from Mildenhall Tigers’ youngster Taylor Poole in this National Trophy tie. The teenage Australian reserve won each and every one of his five rides to record a match-winning 15 points. 

The Islanders fought hard over the 15 heats, with Nick Simmons, Ben Hopwood and Matt Wright all posting double figure scores, but it was not enough.

• Neither Ben or Nick gained individual success in Saturday’s National League Riders Championship in Hert-fordshire. The title went to Buxton’s Craig Cook.
