AS South Bucks starts to shed its winter chill in time for spring, we have a host of ideas for those desperate to get outdoors.

Two new sections have been added to the Star's sister paper the Bucks Free Press website to tempt residents away from their central heating a guide to local walks and a gardening section.

Walk writer Jean Patefield, of Lane End, has outlined seven walks of between three and six miles in the Chilterns area. Each has a step-by-step route, details of pubs along the way and a map to ensure you don't get lost.

The site also lists details of weekend walks led by Wycombe Ramblers Association and has links to local walking groups' websites.

If you know of a good local walk, why not send in details to www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/leisure/walking/

The BFP website's new gardening section features topical articles plus features on particular plants and vegetables.

The BFP website is enjoying fast-growing popularity at the moment, with more than 100,000 page impressions recorded for last month.

Users enjoy daily local news and sport, entertainment listings plus adverts for jobs, homes and cars.

There is also a special section for children which includes homework help, an agony aunt, and jokes.

A section features local restaurants and pubs, there is an area covering the local music scene plus a comprehensive site on Wycombe Wanderers.
