Aaron fights for win

TOP seed Aaron Moore was made to work hard for his win at the IW Squash Academy’s latest junior tournament at Westridge.

He was pushed all the way in his semi-final against Harry Foster, winning 13-11, 5-11, 12-10, 11-5.

He faced Brandon Hanmore — who had defeated Jude Peckham over five sets — in the final. Aaron took the first two games to get a commanding lead, but Brandon dug deep to take the third. However Aaron responded and took the fourth set, and the win.

There were 16 players in the B category competition.

Ben Urquhart and Tom Lynskey battled it out in the first semi-final which Ben won in straight games 12-10, 11-5, 11-7,

In the other match, Sam Moseley came from behind to beat Tom Brockwell 11-4, 3-11, 9-11, 10-12.

In the C event, Nico Ostler defeated Josh Ellsworth and Oscar Saward beat Callum Lawrence in the semi-finals, both matches finishing 3-1.

Oscar played some outstanding squash in the final, winning in straight games, 11-9, 11-7, 13-11.

The player of the tournament was Josh Ellsworth.
