Jim Thompson's Oriental Bar Restaurant Bazaar, an award-winning restaurant group, has teamed up with Amnesty International, the human rights organisation, to bring a special menu of south east Asian specialities.
Priced at £16.95, a donation of £2.50 goes to Amnesty every time the menu is ordered. Included in the menu are spicy prawn crackers, JT's Peek Gai, Gai Pad Khing (sliced chicken breast stir-fried in ginger, mushroom, spring onion and oyster sauce) and steamed jasmine rice, with the menu changing periodically to introduce new dishes from 10 south east Asian countries.
Kingston and Richmond residents will find their nearest Jim Thompson's at 408 Upper Richmond Road, Putney and at 141 The Broadway, Wimbledon. The restaurant is also at 65 London road, Ewell.
Jim Thompson's hopes to raise more than £1,000 in donations in the first few months. Managing director Tony Carson said: "In supporting Amnesty International, we aim to give back something to societies and people with whom we are closely associated."
