Beckie’s bronze at contest

ICE SKATINGISLAND figure skater Beckie Vockins won bronze at the Basingstoke Open last week.
The youngster, who is a member of the British synchronised skating champions, the Wight Jewels, came third in the level one ladies’ competition for over-14s, which featured 16 competitors.
Beckie, 14, has been skating for just under three years and is coached by Matthew Russell at Ryde Arena. She said: "I was really surprised, as I was unsure of the standard of other skaters."
