Circuits of success

SIX members of the Wightlink-LCM Systems Cycle Race Team produced great results at the Castle Combe Circuit races last weekend.

In the third category race, James Ebdon, Sam Baker and Kev Foster played the game well to make sure they did not miss out on a breakaway with three laps left.

Foster drilled himself to drag Baker and Ebdon across to the lead group, before peeling off and rolling round with the remainder of the main peloton, as his teamwork for the day was done.

Still with a lot to do, Baker shepherded Ebdon round the second to last lap, before Ebdon latched onto a rapid sprint train that was leading a frenetic front group, where he dug deep to take fourth in the bunch sprint.

In the fourth category, Ed Sutton, Ian Hayden and Matt Allsopp were in action.

The pace increased throughout the race, and coming into the last lap Sutton and Hayden guided Allsopp to the front quarter of the bunch, where they held their position. Sutton and Hayden teamed up to support Allsopp, who won the sprint, and came second overall.
