MOTORCYCLE TRIALS

A CLEAN sheet for Nick Symes earned him victory in the Twinshock class of the IW Motorcycle Club’s Frank Pragnell Cup competition at Knighton Sand Pit last weekend.

He was the only rider not to drop a point over the day, beating Stephen Wood on four marks into second.

Nigel Crouch, still competing on his old British Greeves, made a welcome return to trials to win his class with only 13 marks lost.

Stewart Freeman in the over-50s class lost 14 marks to take first place, while in the clubman class, Alan Stay was on top form to win with 20 marks lost. Simon Newnham was second on 31, with Alan Gosden third on 33.

There was a close battle in the novice status between father Vince Richardson and son Jordan Richardson, but Vince had the edge with a loss of two marks over Jordan’s seven. Simon was third on 12.
