Club uses the force

Matthew Boulter, three, dons his toolbelt to help out at the IW Rugby Club RugbyForce day.

MEMBERS of IW RFC swapped their rugby balls for power tools as part of the NatWest RugbyForce weekend.

With £2,500 donated by RugbyForce, a team of volunteers gave the club a makeover, refurbishing the toilets as well as upgrading the disabled and baby changing facilities, repainting the changing rooms and smartening up the bar area.

Among those helping were MP Andrew Turner and Richard Freeman, community rugby development officer for the IW.

Club chairman, Nick Puckett, said: "A brilliant turnout of players, partners and children over the course of the weekend ensured a great atmosphere while we worked, and allowed us to complete all of the tasks we wanted to get done.

"This means that the work on the clubhouse is on schedule to be finished in time for the new season."
