A 25-year-old woman was left suffering from shock after being mugged on a poorly-lit path in Borehamwood early on Sunday.
The woman was grabbed from behind in Allerton Close by a man she described as about 30 years old and stocky with short black hair.
As well as suffering cuts to her knee, she lost a small satin hand bag -- described as lilac-coloured with a flower pattern -- in the attack at 3.20am. Police said the victim screamed, which alerted nearby householders, but the attacker escaped. Anyone with information should telephone Borehamwood CID on 0181 733 5434.
