ARCHERY HILTON Jacobs and Terry Benstead retained their titles at West Wight Archery Club’s outdoor longbow and flatbow championships at Medina Leisure Centre last weekend.
Hilton, in the longbow competition, won again by a clear margin with 468, with Derek Osbourn second on 312, and Kevin Houghton — who won the trophy for the best gold at 60yds — third on 227.
Terry was the only competitor in the flatbow so her score of 73 won her the title and the trophy for the best gold at 60yards.
The petticoat prize for the most non-scoring arrows on the boss went to Marilyn Osbourn and Jennie Ham won the novelty green prize. Club secretary Emma Brown presented the awards.
In all 11 archers took part, shooting a Western round of four dozen arrow at 60yds and the same at 50yds.
