TOP IW ladies’ darts player Brenda Dyer has made the cut once again for the Winmau World Masters in Hull.

She and eight other IW players went to the regional playoffs in Poole last weekend, taking on players from eight other counties for the two men’s places and one ladies’ spot for the Masters, which take place later this year.

The men showed good form with first-round wins for Craig Brown and Tony Broughton, but defeats for Dan Smith and Darren Hawken..

Craig lost his next game leaving just Tony to fly the IW flag. He reached the final, but missed doubles cost him dear and his Oxfordshire opponent won the match with a 160 check-out.

The ladies had a hard start with first round losses for Paula Brown and Vi Merchant, next up was Sam Pink who won her first games before meeting Sam Pike from Hampshire in the quarter finals and losing 4-2.

Brenda, however, had the magic touch and brushed away each opponent, with finishes including 101, 125 and 134, on her way to an overall victory and qualifying spot.
