Elliott takes Premier Division title

POOL STEVE Elliott is the Island’s top pool player, after winning the Premier Division title of the white-ball.co.uk sponsored IW 8-ball Singles’ League.

He pipped last year’s winner, Mike Larkins, to take the crown.

Joining them in next year’s Premier Division title race will be Mark White, who won Division 1 with an impressive 103 points from 11 matches.

James McEnery has now achieved back-to-back promotions after finishing top of Division 2, while a special mention goes to Jason McElligott for recording 113 points in League 3, in his very first season.

Meanwhile, the final of the White Ball Cup takes place at the league’s presentation evening at Rocket Ronnie’s Pool Hall, Newport, from 6pm next Saturday, February 23.

The semi-finalists in contention for the cup are Danny Williams, James Bradshaw, Nick Lee and Steve Elliott.

After the final, trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to all the players who have achieved the top placings.

Anyone wishing to join the league for next season can apply any time up to the presentation night.
