ELESHA Mabey claimed victory in all four rounds of the Vectis Boat and Fishing Club’s (VBFC) junior fishing competition as she scored almost double that of her closest rival.
Elesha scored 4,314 after four rounds, with an impressive 808 in the final round to seal victory. Ryan Bell came second with a total of 2,609 and Ronin Jayston came third after scoring 379 in the final round to take his overall total to 1,437.
Joan Wheelton, membership secretary, said: "This is one of the best years we have had. It was a great experience and we are looking forward to taking a number of the youngsters on a boat angling experience on Sunday.
"The prize giving was a real success. More than 100 people attended the barbecue to see Elesha receive her trophy."
The heaviest catch of the competition, Shay Phillipson in the first round, was a 555g wrasse, and the smallest fish was a 6cm goby, caught by Ryan Bell.
