TRIATHLON
LIZ Lloyd, a new member of the Wightlink-sponsored Wight Tri club, produced an excellent debut at Olympic distance level at the Bournemouth International Triathlon.
The event comprised a 1,500m swim, 40km bike leg and a flat run from Bournemouth to Boscombe Pier and back.
She completed the swim in 38.44, then produced an exceptional bike leg, completing it in 1.30.12. She found the run tiring but still managed to finish it in 1.06.24, coming 213th overall, and eighth in the vet 40-44.
The club’s next splash and dash takes place at Hope Beach, Lake, tonight (Friday), from 6.30pm.
