A bar worker was tied up in the early hours of the morning during a terrifying robbery at a landmark pub.

Police said that a four figure sum of cash was stolen during the heist at the Grand Hotel in Leigh Broadway.

Two robbers broke into the pub around 12.40am on Sunday and tied a member of staff to a chair before escaping with the money.

The victim, who was walking into an office at the time, was not hurt and was able to free himself and call police.

One robber is described as white and wearing a woolly hat. The other is thought to be black or mixed race and was wearing a ski mask. Both were wearing hooded tops.
