FORMER Millwall and Charlton player Mike Kelly has been appointed as Newport FC's interim manager.
Kelly and his assistant Andrew Rimmer have taken over until the end of the season, following Andy Sampson's departure in August.
Goalkeeper Gary Streeter and midfielder Darren Powell, who had been running the side, will step back predominantly into playing duties.
Kelly made 18 first team appearances for Millwall, scoring two goals, in the 1970s, and he played for Charlton ten times.
Chairman Stuart Ross said: "We are delighted to appoint Mike Kelly as our interim first team manager.
"He has a professional football background and extensive experience in the game.
"We're confident he can help develop the first team squad and we wish Mike and Andrew all the very best."
