Three fixtures in four days started with a goalless draw at Southport that cemented Ks position in the top five.

Ks best chance came when a Junior Kadi corner was headed goalwards by Wingfield, only for Neil Grayson to clear off the line.

It was evident that both teams were content with a share of the spoils as the final chance of the game came when Tim Ryan's hopeful free kick was blocked on the edge of the box.

On Saturday Ks wrapped up their domestic league season in style, with a 3-0 success at Northwich.

The win earned Geoff Chapple a 5th place finish, a feat that he was optimistic of achieving, especially after last terms 8th place.

The Ks' squad on the other hand are still chasing Wembley places. They played with determination and flair, displaying some lovely passing moves and patterns, with striker Amara Simba proving deadly in front of goal.

Simba picked up a harmless ball out on the right. Some 25 yards out, he ran parallel to the Vics box and then unleashed a tremendous drive that sailed through the hands of a full-stretch Rigby for yet another stunning goal.

Three minutes into the second half, Ks made it two, Mustafa threaded a ball down the right to Simba, who took off into the Vics box. He waited for sub keeper Paul Williams to charge out and then smashed the ball past him.

Southport skipper Ian Cooke was thrawted by a brilliant save from Steve Farrelly, when his goal-bound shot was blocked by the big keepers feet.

Stung into action, the ball was immediately despatched upfield to find a lurking Phil Wingfield who darted into the away box in the 89th minute and from an acute angle on the left blazed the ball into the far corner of the net.

On Monday night, Ks failed to wrestle the Macmillan Cup away from Doncaster, losing 2-0 at Belle Vue. A full match report will be in tomorrow's Surrey Comet.
