AN 82-YEAR-OLD golfer has been crowned Osborne’s super senior.
John Broster won the club’s Victor Ludorum Cup for gaining the best overall results in the seniors’ events across the year.
Broster scored 523.5 points, 20 clear of nearest rival Dave Cotton.
Ian King was third with 501.5 points.
Broster also won the Roger Williams Salvers for the best three scores in the Seniors Cup qualifiers, to add to his Seniors Winter League Shield accolade earlier in the year. He also rounded off 2016 in similar fashion by winning the seniors’ Christmas Texas scramble team event with Les Snow, Ian King, Jeremy Page and Tony Lake.
Mr Lake, the club’s seniors’ press officer, said: "I can’t remember such an outstanding senior’s performance in the history of the Osborne seniors’ events."
