Harrison’s back

Friday, January 24, 2014

HARRISON Curling showed he was back in form after a long spell off with injury at the British Cross-Country Challenge in Cardiff.

Harrison, 18, of Newport, has struggled with a niggling leg imbalance since last April but with lots of hard work and great medical support is now running injury-free.

Although far from 100 per cent fit, this race was an ideal opportunity to test his leg and fitness levels, and he came through with flying colours.

In a small, but quality field, Harrison found the early pace of the 6.9km race quick and was just off the back of the leading runners in 20th spot but as some of the faster starters began to falter, he used his strength to pick these athletes off.

In the final stages of the race he was getting back to the next group who were representing Wales, the South and North to finish in 15th place in 25.23.

Harrison thanked all those involved who have helped him recover from his difficult injury.
