Girls at a leading private school were told to work from home for the final two days of term because teachers where concerned they may cause a disturbance.

All 25 girls in the upper sixth form at the £1,800-a-term Heathfield School in Beaulieu Drive, Pinner, were told to finish their A level preparations from home on Wednesday last week.

One of the girls said: ñThese rumours are not true. We were told Wednesday was our last day and were only told 15 minutes before school ended. We hardly had a chance to say our farewells to our friends or teachers.î

A statement from the school said: ñIn keeping with what happens nationally in schools every May, when study leave starts, students can become over exuberant at the end of their formal schooling.

ñIn order to avoid any disturbance to the students just before the A-level examination period, the Upper Sixth were advised to complete their final preparations at home.î All syllabuses had been completed and the girls are allowed to use the library and to meet teachers for extra revision sessions this week.
