Huge field for Barry’s big day

GOLFTHE brilliant weather attracted more than 80 members to Osborne Golf Club’s men’s captain’s day, hosted by Barry Geary.

In Division 1, Dave Street took the spoils with 40 points, three ahead of Mike Bowles and four ahead of Glynn Taylor.

Division 2 was won by Sid Owen with 38 points, with Paul Woolford on 36 and Robert Biggs on 35, while in Division 3, Sean Howe won with ) 39 points, with Roger Cooper second on 38 and Tom Proudfoot third on 37.

Dave’s score of 40 put him as the overall winner, and he also took a nearest-the-pin prize, alongside Dave Young, Alan Bayes and Mike Bowles.

Longest drive/nearest-the-line prizes went to Tony Lake and Paul Haward.

After the day’s play, a presentation night with buffet and disco took place, and the proceeds of a separate putting competition, as well as the income from fun "fines" went to the club’s main charity, the Fairhaven Housing Trust.
