JOANNE Wright backed up her NatWest Island Games performances with victory in Osborne Golf Club’s ladies’ championship last week.
She won the 36-hole scratch competition with a gross score of 169.
Winning the handicap contest was Island Games ladies’ golf team manager Gillian Fahy, with nett 147, two ahead of Penny Dominey and three ahead of Margaret Butler.
The veterans’ championship, over 18 holes, was won by Ann Geary with a gross 87. The handicap prize went to Penny, with a nett 69, two ahead of Carole Walker and eight ahead of Joan Dalrymple.
Joanne also won the Summer Scratch knock-out competition, beating Gillian in the final. Sarah Hopcroft and Carol Walker made the semi-final stage.
The Diamond Jubilee Trophy, an 18-hole medal competition, was won by Vicky Haward with nett 71, five ahead of Jan Pitman and six ahead of Liz Allen.
