WIGHTLINK Islanders start their 2012 National Trophy campaign tomorrow (Tuesday).
The speedway side begin their quest at Smallbrook Stadium where they will take on Buxton Hitmen from 7.30pm.
The National Trophy involves the Islanders, the Hitmen, Mildenhall and Stoke.
Co-promoter Chris Hunt is hoping the Islanders can repeat their league result against the Hitmen, when they won 49-44.
"We suffered more than our fair share of bike problems that night," he said. "And providing we don’t suffer a repeat of those, I expect us to win comfortably."
The turnstiles will be open early to allow spectators to see the pre-match bike preparations going on in the pit area. Riders will be introduced at 7.20pm with the action starting ten minutes later.
