GOLF THE IW will have to wait another year to try to win the Hampshire, IW and Channel Islands Championship.

Of the 15 IW players, an impressive six made cut for the knock-out stages after 36 holes.

However, all but one were knocked out in the first round, with Gary Meszynski reaching the quarter-finals before being beaten by Liphook’s Obi Ayton.

The contest was eventually won by Brokenhurst Manor’s Jordan Ainley.
