IW LADIES are just two wins away from winning the regional Women’s FA Futsal League, after a string of fine performances.

The side is level on points with leaders Eastbourne DGH going into the final round of matches — one point from their last two games will guarantee them a place in the semi-finals as runners-up but winning both will earn them the title outright.

They take on Eastbourne DGH and Eastbourne Ladies in the final games.

Last weekend, they played Eastbourne DGH and won 4-1, handing them their first defeat of the season. Gemma Woodford scored a hat-trick, with Susan Cullen netting the fourth.

Lucy Blake was outstanding in goal and pulled off some fine saves to keep IW ahead.

They also defeated Hasting Ladies 6-0, Cullen scoring three, Woodford two, and Naomi Cooper one.

The winners go through to the national finals, to be held at The Copperbox in London.
