GYMNASTICS star Jack Humphray put a bad start behind him to bag three medals at the Southern Region Championships in Southampton.
Ryde School pupil Jack, 12, of St Helens, was competing for his club, Excel Gymnastics in Horndean, in the under-12s level 4 competition across all disciplines.
However, a rare mistake from Jack on the high bar meant he had to restart his routine and, therefore, lose several marks towards his overall score.
But he dug deep and went on to produce great performances on the rings and pommel horse, winning two silver medals, while on the vault he won a bronze.
Those scores were enough to earn him fourth overall, and just 0.1 marks off an overall bronze.
Mum Carol said: "He was really pleased with his result, especially given his start on the high bar, which was very unusual for him."
