SIX Island swimmers have achieved success at the Bracknell and Wokingham Level 1 Open Meet in Aldershot.
Four members of the IW Swim Team and two from West Wight Swimming Club attended the meet and brought home a clutch of medals.
Abigail Lacey, in the 11 years age group, won four golds and a silver in her five events, achieving PB times in the 50m freestyle, 200m backstroke and 100m backstroke.
In the same age group, Grace Poynter won gold in the 100m breaststroke in a PB time, and bronze medals in both the 200m medley and 100m freestyle.
Also winning gold was West Wight swimmer Jake Williams, in the boys’ 14 years 200m breaststroke.
In the 12 years age group, Amber Backhouse completed a very tough six races and won bronze in the 200m breaststroke in her last event of the day.
Megan King, in the 13 years age group, won silver in the 50m freestyle, missing out on gold by just 0.01 of a second.
In the same age group, Lelayna Blacklock achieved PB times in both 100m and 200m backstroke.
