SPECIAL OLYMPICS
TEN members of the IW Special Olympic team attended the Eastbourne regional games for the first meet of the outdoor season and did themselves proud.
Christopher Burgess, taking part in his first competition, gave a great performance and collected a gold medal for his efforts in the 100m , and in different categories, Charlie Burgess and AnnaRosa Cretella achieved silver.
Andy Powell, Carl Harvey and Mark Roberts took bronze. Jon Baker, Sarah Beane and Nathan Bound came fourth.
In the 200m, James Hay managed to take first in a very hard contest, before winning the long jump.
Carl, Sarah, Jon and Mark took silver in the long jump as well and Andy came fifth.
In the soft ball throw Charlie, as always, performed well achieving gold, while Nathan, Christopher and AnnaRosa came fourth in different divisions.
The men’s 4x100m relay A team came second, as did the B team in their first performance together. The girls sharing in a team with S.E. Hants, also took silver.
