RESURFACING work to repair worn-out sections of the M11 between junctions 6 and 7 (the M25 and Harlow) will start on Saturday.

Work on the 5.8km stretch of road will see a quieter surface laid and safety improvements carried out to the safety fence on the northbound verge.

Repairs will be carried out to bridges, and drainage repairs will also be done as part of the £6.3m contract which is expected to take 12 weeks to complete.

Highways Agency project manager Arvind Ranpuria said: "This work will benefit road users and people living close to the M11.

"It will be carried out round the clock seven days a week in order to keep disruption and inconvenience to a minimum, but will be put on hold over the Easter weekend.

"There will be a contraflow on the southbound carriageway with two lanes in both directions kept open for traffic at all times."
