NETBALL NETBALL coach Gwyn Foster was remembered at a special event last Friday.
Former IW county senior players, coached by Gwyn, who died ten years ago, played a match against former junior county players, while memories from her era were shared in a display of old photographs.
Juniors from Solent, Shorwell and Gurnard played a series of matches and the evening concluded with a game of walking netball.
A raffle and cake stall helped raised £130 for the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, which cared for Gwyn before she died.
Organiser Carol O’Brien said: "I wanted it to be a fun event, where people could play or catch up with old friends to reminisce.
"Thanks to all the players, supporters, coaches and umpires who helped make this evening a success."
