Adam Dominey.
SQUASHAN ISLAND coach is aiming to put squash back on the map by starting a new academy.
Adam Dominey, who helped train Alex Phillips, who later become European junior champion and is now ranked 169th in the world, has launched the academy at Westridge Squash Club and will start soon at The West Bay Club.
Together with assistant coach Callum Arnott, Adam intends to run sessions for children aged five to eight years old, and already runs sessions for nine to 15 year olds, men and women — at all levels of ability.
It is also his aim to launch the IW Junior Squash League, which will involve IW primary schools.
Adam and Callum, who both won medals at last year’s NatWest Island Games, have plenty of years of experience between them, with Adam having more than 20 years of coaching under his belt.
There are dozens of different sessions to choose from on Saturdays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so to find out more, call Adam on 07823 771385.
