PARKRUN

PARKRUN made a welcome return to Puckpool last week — and marked a historic moment for the event.

Jay Tuck became the first IW runner to earn his red shirt from organisers for completing his 50th Parkrun, and was presented with a cake before the race.

He finished 17th overall, in 23.01.

The event itself attracted almost 80 runners and in the end, it was a battle between Simon McMorran and Simon Randall for the win, with McMorran finishing in 18.50, and Randall finishing five seconds behind. Stuart Backhouse was third, in 19.19.

For the women, first-timer Sarah Kavanagh finished in 22.13, with Lucy Wells close behind in 22.32, and Trish Train third, in 24.05.

Tomorrow’s (Saturday) run takes place at Appley.
